There are only a few ways to loos significant weight. Of course we know that a grave illness or bad accident requiring a prolonged hospital stay will accomplish it. Being marooned on a desert island for a year or two can also do the trick. some would even suggest not eating for a while, which is a really bad idea.

However, there is a way that does not require you to suffer injury or stop eating, and is guaranteed to produce weight loss.

This way of loosing weight and becoming healthier has three equal and complementary components:

    Colon cleaning

    Increased physical exercise

Colon Cleaning

The colon is the lower part of your intestine. It is the part of you that lets you know it is time to head for the bathroom! Because of the shape of the colon, it can trap food waste left over from digestion. Eating heavy stuff such as most fried foods, and meat can and do end up leaving some bits behind and stuck in your colon. It is for this reason that colon cleaning is the first thing to do when you want to lose weight. The built up matter stuck in your colon has mass and does weigh something, so cleaning it out starts you loosing weight. There are many commercial products available to do this, but be very careful just what is in any one of them you consider using.

Meal Replacement

The idea of meal replacement has been around for quite a long time. One has only  to look at television to see examples of products being offered to do this. The meal replacements come in the form of Protein bars, cookies, even the long established meal provision companies that you join and they provide some number of weeks worth of food lower in calories delivered right to your door. The basic idea is to replace what you would usually eat with something else that will satisfy you, but be much lower in available calories. You do not need to get too complicated about this, much simpler ways of doing it exist. A simple shake made in a blender consisting of low fat milk, soy milk, or almond milk, and a lean protiein powder mix should be quite adequate. Be careful not to use a protein powder with excess sugar in it as this will increase the calorie count. Two of these a day, the eat what you usually would for dinner.

Increased physical exercise

Now, do not freak out! You need not run a marathon or lift weights for 4 hours a day, although these things do work. It is only necessary to walk at moderate speed for half an hour or more a day,  to get the ball rolling. Simple things like parking farther away from the entrance to the store so you need to walk to it. If you have a dog, take longer walks when you walk him. If you get bored, take a walk! Of course, to lose weight you have to increase the number of calories burned compared to the number of calories you consume. The basic thing is to increase your heart and breathing rates a bit for a sufficient time to burn calories. The more you raise these a little and keep them there, the more calories you will get rid of.

So, you see it is not so difficult to lose weight and get in better shape. Just remember you must be consistent, and be patient as it will not happen overnight. To make it quicker, consider reducing or eliminating meat during the time you are trying to lose weight. A special note, you cannot eat lots of candy bars, pasta meals, potatoe chips, ice cream, bread, or drink beer, or sodas and expect to lose weight. Only if you are serious, only if you are willing to do something different to get a different result, will you succeed. But imagine looking in the mirror a couple of months from now and seeing a new, slimmer you!
